| dc.description.abstract | This study investigated the effectiveness of emergency response by ambulance providers in Kisumu County, Kenya, with a specific focus on Jaramogi Oginga Teaching and Referral Hospital and County and Sub-county Hospitals within Kisumu County. Using a cross-sectional mixed-methods research design, a diverse sample of ambulance service providers and healthcare professionals was surveyed to capture a range of perspectives on the efficiency of emergency care services. Data was collected through structured interviews using a questionnaire that included both open-ended and closed-ended questions. The reliability and validity of the questionnaire were ensured through preliminary testing and expert consultation. Quantitative data were analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics via SPSS, while qualitative data underwent thematic analysis to identify key patterns affecting service delivery. Ethical considerations, including informed consent and confidentiality, were strictly adhered to throughout the research process. The findings revealed that delays in response times were primarily influenced by inadequate training, poor infrastructure, and limited community engagement. This research highlights critical gaps in current ambulance service practices and offers actionable recommendations for improving emergency response effectiveness in the region. | en_US |
